RE: Bishop Tod Brown and Bishop Jaime Soto, Diocese of Orange

On the diocesan website "Peace and Justice" http://www.rcbo.org/offices/peace_justice/legislative_advocacy.htm (on the diocesan website www.rcbo.org) (images of the webpages are also attached, in the event they are, within the next few days, deleted by the diocese: saved archive of first web page, saved archive of second web page.)

The brief paragraph beneath the Issues/Legislative Advocacy title on the Diocese of Orange webpage says:

"The Church has a rich history of involvement in and support of social justice issues consistent with the teachings of the Church. Following are relevant links which will help one find the Church’s position and call for action on the social justice issues of our time."

The list "Issues and Legislative Advocacy" includes many current issues that Bishop Brown (and Bishop Soto, who is supposed to direct legislative action in the Diocese of Orange) consider important.

Some of the issues that are included are Citizenship, Death Penalty, Immigration, Health Care, Sweat Shop Labor, Poverty and Third World Debt.

NOT INCLUDED IN THIS LIST OF IMPORTANT CURRENT ISSUES—is abortion.

But the additional problem is the fact that the 2 links under Sweat Shop Labor are links to UNICEF, which supports population control, contraception, and abortion.

Below is a link to Lifesite News that lists a number of articles about the anti-Catholic teachings of UNICEF including one regarding the fact that, after a damning report that was issued in 1996, the Vatican stopped their annual contribution to the organization.

Yet Bishop Brown and Bishop Soto obviously DO support them and they also are instructing their flock that THERE YOU CAN "FIND THE CHURCH'S POSITION"!!

This is only part of what your PSA dollars support.

Please call both Bishop Brown and Bishop Soto today (714-282-3000) and let them know why, in good conscience, you cannot make your PSA donations - and cancel them. B. Brown is holding your parish hostage (demanding PSA minimums) while, with your money, he supports abortion, contraception and homosexual marriage. And please forward this to the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Pietro Sambi at nuntiususa@nuntiusa.org

Please remember to forward to all.
